GRAN FONDO ISLE OF MAN POWERED BY SANTANDER INTERNATIONAL RIDER UPDATE – SATURDAY’S SCHEDULE

RIDER UPDATE – SATURDAY’S SCHEDULE

Further to our previous update regarding the adverse weather conditions forecast for the weekend, the organisers of Gran Fondo Isle of Man powered by Santander International wish to confirm the following information:

Individual Time Trial

The Individual Time Trial scheduled for Saturday 22nd of July will go ahead as planned. Roads will close at 0930hrs with the first rider due to start at 1000hrs.

At the time of writing we are expecting rain, which could be heavy, low visibility and a southwesterly wind.

For those taking part we recommend that you are met at the finish line by your support crew (for those who have one) with a change of clothes.

The finish line can be accessed from the start in Ramsey by taking the A3 Lezayre Road to Sulby and then the A14 Tholt y Will Glen Road to the Bungalow.

For those of you without support, we will offer a bag transfer service to the finish line and a post event transfer service back to the start for you and your bike as required.

The Time Trial Start Sheet can be found at: https://my.raceresult.com/228835/participants#0_34374D

Rear lights must be used by all participants in the Time Trial.

Given the forecast conditions, we regret to have to cancel the prize presentations for the Time Trial. Riders winning jerseys, medals and/or prize money will be notified directly and these can be collected from the Race HQ at the Riders Village.

Minisculo Fondo

With the worst of the weather conditions scheduled later in the afternoon, we regret to confirm that the Minisculo Fondo has been cancelled.

Given the forecast, the typical ‘Mini Fondo’ experience would not be possible and it would not be enjoyable for our younger participants and their safety could be compromised.

We will look at options to run the Minisculo Fondo separately at a later date and will communicate plans once they are known.

Riders Village and Signing On

The Riders Village will open on Saturday as per the schedule and Race HQ will be manned throughout to rider and officials signing on for Sunday’s event.

Sunday’s Schedule

It is expected that the full schedule of events will be run on Sunday 23rd of July, with further information relating to any specific considerations for those events to be shared during Saturday via e-mail and across our official social media channels.
