RIDER UPDATE FOR 2023 GRAN FONDO ISLE OF MAN

The weather forecast for Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of July is currently forecasting periods of rain at the scheduled times of some of the Gran Fondo Isle of Man events.

The forecast remains changeable, with Saturday currently forecast to see the most rain.

It is our intention to run a full calendar of events as advertised. However the safety and enjoyment of all our riders is our primary concern and we will take measures as required to ensure this is maintained.

For riders in the Individual Time Trial, Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo events, please note that we have decided that you must carry a rear light when taking part in these events. This is mandatory.

We also recommend that riders in the Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo wear high visibility clothing where possible, and consider the use of a rain cape as you see fit.

For those taking part in the Time Trial, we recommend that you are met at the finish line by your support crew (for those who have one) with a change of clothes.

The finish line can be accessed from the start in Ramsey by taking the A3 Lezayre Road to Sulby and then the A14 Tholt y Will Glen Road to the Bungalow.

For those of you without support, we will offer a bag transfer service to the finish line and a post event transfer service back to the start for you and your bike as required.

Whatever the conditions at the weekend, we urge all riders to ride with caution and within their limits at all times adhering to the advice provided by our organising team and the marshals and stewards out on the courses.

We will provide a further update on Friday when we have the most up to date weather forecast, and we will advise of any further implications related to the weather conditions at that time.

Please keep a look out for further updates from us via e-mail and across our social channels.
